square bar code that can be scanned by a mobile camera. However, this
technology is used not only for payment, but also for quick opening of any
website, downloading any app or viewing restaurant menu. Fraudsters have become
active since the popularity of QR codes on tickets, personal data shares or
financial transactions began to grow. Fraudsters are trying to steal money from

Check the URL
After scanning
the QR code, check which URL is opening. Many times malware is tried to enter
the phone by opening fake websites that look similar. Before scanning, check
the spelling of the URL name.
Do not download apps by scanning
QR codes Do not
download any apps by scanning QR codes. Various malware can enter your phone
from this type of QR code. Basically, hackers insert malware into the phone in
this way. For this reason, use the official store of the phone to download any
app. Android customers use the App Store and iOS customers use the App Store to
download apps.
Examine
QR codes
thoroughly to verify the validity of any QR code scanned. Many times another QR
code is used with a sticker on top of the original QR code. Check before
scanning such QR codes. Even after scanning, see where you are paying.
When making a payment from a website, be careful –
do not pay when
a website is open after scanning the QR code. If you want to pay with QR code,
scan the code from the right app. Pay only if you see the recipient's name
after scanning the code from the app.
Payment Request
It is possible
to send money only by scanning the QR code. You do not need to scan the QR code
to get the money. Avoid any QR codes that come to you via email or message if
you promise to receive money.
